The wealth corner — cái wèi — is the part of your home Feng Shui associates with money, opportunity and abundance. The catch most guides skip: there are two schools, and they locate it differently. Rather than pretend only one is right, here is both — and how to activate whichever you follow.

Black-Hat (BTB) method
Stand in your main doorway looking in. The wealth corner is the far back-left corner of the home. You can also find the wealth corner of a single room the same way — stand at its door and look to the far left.
Classical Compass method
Using a compass, the wealth sector is the South-East of the home, governed by the wood element. This is the older, direction-based tradition — and the one our Energy Analyzer uses, cross-checked with Vastu.

Declutter first
A cluttered wealth corner blocks the flow of Chi. Clear broken items, dust and anything unused. This one step matters more than any cure you add.
Add wood & water
Wood grows wealth and water keeps it flowing. A healthy leafy plant plus a small fountain or an image of moving water is the classic combination.
Use wealth colours
Purple and gold draw abundance; green and deep blue grow and sustain it. A cushion, artwork or object in these tones is enough.
Place a wealth symbol
A money plant, a citrine or amethyst cluster, or a money bowl gives the corner a clear intention. Keep it meaningful, not cluttered.

Where exactly is the wealth corner in Feng Shui?
It depends on the school. In the Black-Hat (BTB) method it is the far back-left corner of your home as you stand in the main doorway looking in. How do I activate my wealth corner?
Start by decluttering it — clutter blocks the flow. Then feed it with the elements it likes: wood (healthy leafy plants), water (a small fountain or an image of water), and metal. Wealth colours are purple, gold, green and deep blue. Keep the corner clean, active and well-lit.
Which plants are good for the wealth corner?
Round, leafy plants — a money plant (pothos), a jade plant, or a lucky bamboo — support the wood element that governs growth. Avoid spiky plants like cactus here; their sharp energy is said to push prosperity away. Keep any plant healthy; a dying plant does the opposite of what you want.
What should I avoid in the wealth corner?
Clutter, broken or unused items, dustbins and drains, and spiky plants. Avoid a fish tank or water feature if the wealth corner falls in a bedroom or kitchen — water in those rooms is considered inauspicious. Keep the space cared-for, not crammed.
Does the front door affect wealth too?
Very much. Feng Shui calls the front door the mouth of Chi — opportunity, including financial opportunity, enters through it. Keep the path to your door clear, well-lit and inviting, and the door itself clean and easy to open fully.
